New Essence<\/strong> Black and White<\/strong> Trend Edition is already in the stores. And as the name suggests, everything consists of two colors – black and white.<\/p>\n

Collection includes: white and black eyeshadow, duo white and black eye pencil, black and white lip pencil, eyelashes, black and white nail stickers, nail file and last but not least black, white and “holographic” polish.<\/p>\n

I bought all three polishes just out of curiosity. I wondered what is Soft touch finish and how does a white holographic top coat look like (I was skeptic from the start). <\/p>\n

\"Essence<\/a>
Essence Black and White polishes: Make Me Holo, White Hype, Black Out<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n

White Hype<\/strong> is completely white polish. Application was troublesome … like with almost all completely white polishes. But second coat covers up all the mistakes we made with the first one.
\nSoft Touch finish? The closest comparison would be “plastic” finish – neither matte or glossy. Finish that I personally love. Problem was that polish is not fast to dry and I could not use top coat to speed up the drying time as that would ruin the finish. <\/p>\n

“Chalky” white color does not look very attractive on me – my skin suddenly looked few shades darker when compared to all that snow white color coming from the polish. <\/p>\n

\"Essence<\/a>
Essence Black and White: White Hype (2 layers)<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n

Black Out<\/strong> is total opposite of White Hype polish. Raven black shade is easy to apply (just make sure you have enough of polish on the brush). One coat is enough for full coverage. I used two coats … habit I guess. This is how I imagine Illamasqua Scorn looks like … so that is one polish less on my WL. <\/p>\n

\"Essence<\/a><\/p>\n

Make Me Holo<\/strong> has totally inappropriate name since this top coat has absolutely nothing in common with holographic finish. The closest relative would be CND effects with pearl finish as this is yellowish white base with lots of blues shimmer.<\/p>\n

First of I applied Make Me Holo top coat over White Hype. I immediately disliked the result – yellowish white base with blue shimmer is so not my thing.<\/p>\n

\"Essence<\/a><\/p>\n

But I love the combo of Black Out base and Make Me Holo top coat. What is not to like in this gorgeous blue shade.<\/p>\n

\"Essence<\/a>Of course I wanted to know if black and white shade could be used as stamping polishes. Here is the result of stamping Black Out + H23 IP over White Hype:<\/p>\n

\"Essence<\/a><\/p>\n

If image looks uncompleted it is due to the fact that base polish was still not completely dry (I took ages for this polish to dry) so I had to transfer image really carefully. <\/p>\n

White Hype is also good for stamping. This time I used only one layer of Black Out … to speed up the drying time. But I was still to quick to stamp over it and on top of it tiny bubbles emerged – I guess I used to thick coat. <\/p>\n

\"Essence<\/a><\/p>\n

And in case anybody is wondering – Make Me Holo top coat can also be used for stamping.<\/p>\n

\"Essence<\/a><\/p>\n
