Slovenia is small country in Europe that I proudly call my home. In August 2023 we were hit with catastrophic floods of biblical porpotions that caused massive damage to the large part of the country.
We are usually those helping others, but this time, we need all the help we can get. Material damage is severe and we will need at least a decade to build all the roads, bridges and homes flood and landslides ruined in matter of hours.
It really feels like something from horror movies and we have only our institute of voluntary fire brigades and preventive warning system to thank for all the lives saved.
It could have been a lot worse without the brave men and women giving up their vacation days, risking their own lives and helping save what could be saved.
In helping others, they did not have time to save their homes or firehouses, so every penny will go a long way to our PGD as we call them.
I will list major rescue organizations in Slovenia, so you can choose the one you trust the most, but also those working only in Slovenia that have my trust.
