A friend of mine who works in the cosmetic making industry, published a while ago warning in a post on her forum Ars Cosmetica (CLICK HERE – Slovenian) about polyaminopropyl biguanide ingredient found in micellar solutions. Latest date shows it is not as safe as they thought (cancer), so it won’t be on the “safe” list anymore.
Slovenian bloggers and cosmetic lovers quickly took a look at our micellar solutions and made a list of the ones containing the ingredients in question and one where micellar solutions are free of it. No other criteria was taken into consideration.
Micellar solutions CONTAINING potentially harmful ingredient:
- Vichy, La Roch Posay, Caudali green one, Mixa, Garnier pink, L’Oreal, Mustela PysiObebe (for children)
Micellar solutions WITHOUT preservative mentioned:
- Afrodita, Green Line, Corine de Farme, Avene, Bioderma, Inell (e.Leclerc), Nivea, Yves Rocher, Matis Vitality by m
I know this preservative will be removed from the products in time, but I am sure some of you would like to be aware of this information anyway. This is not products recall or something super poisonous, but I personally stopped using my micellar solutions which contained polyaminopropyl biguanide. It is simply one of those situations where everybody will have decide for themselves what will they do with information.
Let me know in the comments if your micellar solution is not on the list and if you can, if you can please add link to the photo of ingredients or send it to me at firstname.lastname@example.org. I’ll update the list regularly so we have fresh info all the time.
