There has been a lot going on at the Lancome cosmetics company in the past year or so. Refreshed and more modern it has ever been. Or so it seems. The fresh breeze is called Lisa Eldridge, the new creative director at Lancome. At first everything was about the cushions: foundation cushions, Juicy shakers (brilliant idea!), cushion blushers and cushion highlighters. Not too long ago the re-launched L’Absolu Rouge line of lipstick.
They got me with their matte formula. There are only six matte shade in the whole line. I hope they extend the line in the future with one or two more neutral shades. I chose a beautiful rich deep berry shade called Berry Noir. The pigmentation is great. One swipe and you get full coverage. It is opaque and even. If you blot it you get softer and lighter look. Because my lips are very small no lipstick stays on my lips for a long time, but this formula is the longest lasting one. And the best part is that it isn’t drying. It is quite comfortable on the lips. It is not a super matte finish. In fact at first it is somehow satin and it gets more matte in time.
