anchek asked me to compare China Glaze – Designer Satin and Essence – Very Berry.
There are two coats of each in the picture. The shades are similar but not dupes. Designer Satin has more red to hint to it than Very Berry. But in some light conditions the colors do look like dupes, in other lighting they look a lot different.
The picture above is taken in poor light conditions, that’s why the picture quality isn’t as good as others.
anncheek asked me to help her pick some blue, green and yellow polishes. I went through my stash and found these pretties…
Star Gazer – 138 is a dark green with an almost black base and lots of green shimmer. The application was a bit harder, because the polish is very thick. Maybe a few drops of thinner would help. There are two coats in the picture.
Sinful Colors – San Francisco #302 is a wonderful emerald green. I love it!!! I read that some girls were disappointed, because the polish was sheer. I didn’t have that problem. There are two coats in the picture, maybe it would look better with three coats, but really… for such a beautiful shade three coats is nothing to be disappointed about. The green shimmer really comes to life in the sun.
N.Y.C. – Big Money Frost was a bit problematic to apply because of the frost finish. There are three coats in the picture. The shade is nice and pretty, but nothing to be excited about.
OPI – Green-wich Village is a pretty creme grass green shade. It is so lovely! In the picture above there are two coats and on one finger there is one coat of Call My Cell-ery on top of the Green-wich Village. Call My Cell-ery is a jelly based green shade with gold and green irregular shaped shimmer.
It’s very sheer and that’s why it’s very appropriate for spicing up the creme shades.
OPI – Teal The Cows Come Home is sky blue shade with shimmering metallic finish. I wondered why there is a word “teal” in the name. Teal shade is a blue-green shade and I didn’t find anything green in this one. But when observing closely, I found that in certain light this shade really has some green to it. It’s fascinating! I really love this one! Unfortunately I couldn’t capture the green side of this beautiful color in the picture. The application was perfect. There are two coats in the picture above.
OPI – No Room For The Blues is a creme sky blue shade. Beautiful and fresh color. Nothing more to say. The application on this one was also perfect. Only two coats in the picture above.
OPI – Banana Bandanna is a very wearable yellow. It has tiny silver shimmer, which is almost invisible. The application isn’t problematic unlike some yellows. There are three coats in the picture. This color is very suitable base for konading. :wink:
Vollare Flash – 99 is a neon yellow. It’s sheer and the application is difficult. That’s why I suggest you layer it over a white base, like I did in the picture above. There is one coat of Ombia – White from the french manicure set and two coats of Vollare Flash – 99. So only three coats to achieve the perfect neon yellow. It really is bold and they can probably see your nails from the Moon. :cool: It’s only for the daring people! :skull:
Sephora by OPI – Cab Fare is a sunny yellow with gold shimmer. Lovely shade! Because of the jelly base it is a bit on the sheer side, that’s why I needed three coats to get desirable coverage.

Vsak odtenek je nanesen v dveh plasteh. Odtenka sta si precej podobna, vendar nista identična. Zanimivo je, da pod določeno svetlobo izgledata skoraj identična, pod določeno svetlobo pa sta popolnoma različna. Designer Satin ima v primerjavi z Very Berry odtenkom v sebi več rdeče.
Zgornja fotografija je narejena v precej slabi osvetlitvi, zato je fotografija slabše kvalitete.
Prav tako me je soforumašica anncheek iz ARS Cosmetice prosila za pomoč pri izbiri rumenega, zelenega in modrega odtenka. Pobrskala sem po svoji zbirki in naredila nekaj primerjav.
Na zgornji fotografiji je primerjava nekaterih zelenih odtenkov: Star Gazer – 138, Sinful Colors – San Francisco #302, N.Y.C. – Big Money Frost.
Star Gazer – 138 je zelo lep temno zelen odtenek, ki ima zelo temno (skoraj črno) osnovo in veliko zelenega šimra. Nanos je dokaj težaven, saj je lak precej gost. Morda bi nekaj kapljic razredčevalca rešilo problem.
Sinful Colors – San Francisco #302 je izredno lep smaragdno zelen odtenek. Prebirala sem, da so punce razočarane nad odtenkom, ker je preveč redek. Jaz nisem imela težav z njim. Na fotografiji sta dva nekoliko debelejša nanosa. Tudi če potrebuje tri nanose, je tega vsekakor vreden, ker je neverjetno lep. Zelen šimer na sončku skoraj oživi.
N.Y.C. – Big Money Frost je svetlo zelen odtenek s frost finišem, ki mi je povzročal nekaj preglavic pri nanašanju. Na fotografiji so trije nanosi.
Na zgornji fotografiji sta za osnovo dva nanosa odtenka OPI – Green-wich Village. Gre za lepo krem travnato zeleno. Meni je izredno všeč. Če vam krem laki niso preveč pri srcu, lahko poskusite čez nanesti še eno plast precej prosojnega odtenka Call My Cell-ery, ki ima zeleno “jelly” osnovo, v katero je ujet šimer nepravilnih oblik.
Zelo posrečen odtenek, škoda je le, da je tako prosojen. Vsekakor bo zelo uporaben za poživitev kremnih odtenkov.
Teal The Cows Come Home ima zelo posrečeno ime (kot veliko OPI odtenkov). Gre za čudovito nebeško modro s šimrastim kovinskim finišem. Nikakor mi ni bilo jasno, kaj dela beseda “teal” v imenu odtenka. Teal je namreč “modro-zelena” barva. Nekaj časa sem odtenek opazovala in ugotovila, da pod določenim kotom in v določeni osvetlitvi lak dejansko izgleda zelenkast. Čudovito! Na fotografijo pa žal tega efekta nisem mogla ujeti.
No Room For The Blues je krem nebeško moder odtenek. Prav tako izredno lep odtenek. Tako svež in čisto nič pastelen. Pri nanašanju nisem imela nobenih težav. Oba odtenka sta nanesena v dveh plasteh.
OPI – Banana Bandanna je zelo nosljiva rumena. Dejansko je barva podobna bananam. Nanos ni problematičen. Na fotografiji so sicer trije nanosi, vendar če se potrudite, sta lahko dovolj že dva. Barva je izredno lepa podlaga za konad. :wink:
Vollare Flash – 99 je izredno poceni varianta neon rumenkota. Cena je manj kot 1€ (če se ne motim je v Iliriji celo okrog 0,70€). Vsekakor pod ta lak priporočam nanos belega odtenka, saj boste tako najlažje dosegli enakomeren nanos v znosnem številu plasti. Na fotografiji je en nanos Ombia belega laka, ki je bil priložen setu za francosko manikuro. Čez bel lak sta še dva nanosa neon rumenega odtenka. Rezultat je “marker” rumena, ki bode v oči. Čudovita barva za poletje. Vsekakor je to barva za drzne. :skull:

To je zaenkrat vse. Upam, da sem s fotografijami vsaj malo pomagala pri izbiri pravega odtenka. :wink:
Končno ena lepa slika laka Designer Satin. Ali mogoče veš, kakšen je v primerjavi z odtenkom Seduce me?
Hvala, cama! Odtenka Seduce Me žal nimam, tako da ne morem primerjati. Kolikor sem pregledala fotke, mi deluje Seduce Me bolj rdeč. :think:

Tele poceni neončke sem si malo ogledovala, ampak se nisem odločila zanje. Zdaj mi je pa kar malo žal, na tvojih nohtkih je ta rumenko prečudovit! Pa vsi ostali lakci tudi! :wink:
