I finally managed to make swatches of China Glaze Crackle Glaze collection. :fju:

Let’s take a look at all 6 crackle beauties in this collection:

I’ve been playing around with Crackle Glaze polishes for 2 days, so I managed to prepare “a few” suggestions for you. :biggrin:

For the beginning I applied China Glaze Crackle Glaze shades over Anchors Away polishes. Application was easy and all the polishes cracked nicely.

I conveniently already had Essence I Love Berlin TE polishes on nail wheel so I applied China Glaze Crackle Glaze polishes over them too. :angel: I love combo with Lightning Bolt. :stars:

Then came the hardest part – which polishes should I use as base for individual swatches. Trust me – bigger collection can sometimes present even bigger obstacle than smaller ones. :silly: I had a few “ups” moments (I do not recommend you use Crackle Glaze polishes over suede base), made over half of the swatches before figuring out the crackle polishes crack best over dry (my mistake, should have read the instructions more thoroughly) polish with top coat … … :roll:

Lightning Bolt was the only one I was hesitating about. I mean – snowy white crackle polish … sounds kind of boring. Well – in the end I fell in love with it.  :biggrin: Since I loved it over I’m A Berliner I decided to make another fresh combo. This time I used Orange Marmalade + Lightning Bolt. Since you can not see the pretty sparkle of Orange Marmalade, I added detail that shows the real beauty of this combination.

Next polish I used as a base was Nfu-Oh 66. Crushed Candy didn’t crack nicely over this shade, so I did quick test and applied top coat over the holographic shade and then added crackle polish. The result looked much better (detail). Color? Crushed Candy is interesting mix of pastel green shade with strong blue undertone.

Fault Line was applied over Bipa Nail Quickie Petrol shade. This is one of my favorite combinations. :wub:

Alessandro Cheeky Devil had a smaller accident before I added layer of Broken Hearted, so the manicure has slightly “wrinkled” look. :whistle: One thing that bothered me with Broken Hearted polish, was that it can discolor slightly into violet shade (combination with Berlin Story).

Cracked Concrete‘s companion is p2 Being In Heaven.

Black Mesh was the one shade I was the least excited about, since I already have Alessandro Crash Coat. Base: Magnetic Radiant Red holographic polish.

One thing bothered me with all the Crackle Glaze polishes – I had to use really, really thin layer to achieve nice cracks. And if I messed up and used too thick layer – that was it, nothing more to be done. I admit I’m little bit spoiled by Alessando Crash Coat  – if I use to thin layer (you’ll have a hard time applying thick one with this polish), I add another one and voila -larger cracks are here.

Can you imagine that I thought at the beginning that nail wheels will be the problematic ones… loooong nails etc. But polish was completely dry on nail wheels + I used top coat so the cracks turned out great.

Price for 14ml/.5 Fl Oz. polish is 8 EUR/11 USD in Slovenia.

Poglejmo si najprej še enkrat vseh 6 crack lepotcev v kolekciji:

Že dva dneva se igračkam s Crackle Glaze laki, tako da imam za vas kar nekaj predlogov. :biggrin:

Za začetek sem nanesla China Glaze Crackle Glaze odtenke čez Anchors Away lakce. Nanos je bil neproblematičen in vsi crackle lakci so lepo razpokali.

Essence I Love Berlin TE sem prikladno že imela na nail wheelu, tako da sem tudi čez te odtenke nanesla China Glaze Crackle Glaze lake. :angel:

Sledil je najtežji del … kako izbrati bazne lake za posamezne swatche – prevelika zbirka je včasih bolj problematična kot premajhna.  :silly: Nekajkrat sem kiksnila (suede lakov ne priporočam za uporabo pod Crackle Glazi), šele na polovici sem ugotovila, da crackli veliko lepše razpokajo, če je lak popolnoma suh (moja napaka, ker nisem bolj natančno prebrala navodil) in uporabim nadlak … :roll:

Bi ali ne bi … vzela Lightning Bolt namreč. Snežno bel crack se mi je zdel tako dolgočasen … potem pa je postal moj skoraj najljubši crackle lakec. :biggrin: Že v kombinaciji z I’m A Berliner mi je bil zelo všeč, tako da sem se odločila za še eno bolj svežo kombinacijo – Orange Marmalade + Lightning Bolt. Na fotografiji se ne vidi prekrasno bleščanje Orange Marmelade pod belim crackle lakom, zato sem dodala detajl, kjer se to lepše vidi.

Naslednji lak (tukaj mi še ni potegnilo, da je nadlak obvezna oprema) je bil Nfu-Oh 66. Crushed Candy je zelo slabo razpokal čez holografski odtenek, zato sem samo na hitro naredila test ali je kaj boljše, če uporabim nadlak … in rezultat je bil veliko lepši (detajl). Barva? Crushed Candy je zanimiva mešanica pastelno zelene barve z močnim modrim podtonom.

Fault Line sem nanesla čez Bipa Nail Quickie Petrol odtenek. Tole je ena mojih najljubših kombinacij. Tudi tukaj nisem uporabila nadlaka čez bazni lak, tako da razpoke niso bile tako lepe kot bi lahko bile. :blush:

Alessandro Cheeky Devil je imel manjšo nezgodo še preden sem mu dodala Broken Hearted, tako da je manikura rahlo “zmečkana”. :whistle: Pri Broken Hearted me je zmotilo, da se občasno rahlo razbarva in postane skoraj vijoličen (glej kombinacijo z Berlin Story).

Za spremljevalca k sivemu Cracked Concrete crack laku sem izbrala p2 Being In Heaven.

Black Mesh mi je bil še najmanj zanimiv glede na to, da imam že Alessandro Crash Coat. Za bazo sem uporabila Magnetic Radiant Red holo lakec.

V splošnem me je motilo, da sem morala res zelo paziti, da sem nanesla zelo zelo tanko plast, če ne laki enostavno niso lepo razpokali … pri malo debelejši plasti pa se razpoke sploh niso prikazale. Alessando Crash Coat me je malo razvadil – če nanesem pretanko (tam je težko nanesti debelejšo plast) plast pač dodam še eno in lak spet razpoka, pri China Glaze Crackle Glaze to ne gre.

Prepričana sem bila, da bom crackle lake težje nanesla na nail wheel kot na moje nohte, vendar je bilo ravno obratno. Na nail wheelu je bil lak popolnoma suh, čez pa sem dala tudi nadlak, tako da so swatchi veliko bolj uspeli na nail wheelu.

Cena za posamezni lak je 8 EUR (14ml).
